The Tanomoshi Circle

ABOUT

The Tanomoshi Circle is a community of monthly donors rooted in a Japanese tradition of coming together when the load is too heavy for a few to carry. For centuries, tanomoshi-ko brought people together to pool their contributions and support one another.

Today, that tradition continues with many hands joining monthly to provide consistent care, education, and meaningful opportunities for children in institutional care across Japan—so the children carrying Japan’s future never have to carry it alone.

Your Support In Action

Monthly donations help recruit, train, and support mentors who provide encouragement, guidance, and life skills, giving young people the confidence they need to thrive as adults.

A trusted mentor can change the course of the kids life. By helping children build confidence, resilience, and strong support networks, the Tanomoshi Circle equips them with the tools they need to transition successfully into adulthood. As they grow into confident and independent adults, they are better prepared to contribute to their communities and many may one day become mentors themselves, creating a lasting cycle of support.

Together, we can build a future where every child feels loved, supported, and full of possibility.
