Learning + fun = the perfect combo!
This week our St. Francis students mastered cyberbullying awareness and online safety, then celebrated with a sushi typing game! Watching them build both digital literacy AND typing speed reminds us why our Japan-to-Manila program has been going strong for 17 years.
Every click, every lesson, every laugh - it's all preparing these incredible kids for brighter futures. Want to be part of their journey?

Triangle battle on the track: engaged.
This week our coders-in-training built their own racing game and even added score counters for every brave little triangle.
From blank screen to playable game in one lesson - thank you to our volunteers and supporters for cheering them on.

On behalf of everyone at YouMeWeNPO, we sincerely thank the EPAM Systems Japan G.K. team for their generous donation of 68 Chromebooks on January 30th, 2026.
This vital support in the New Year provides the children in care homes with access to digital learning tools that equip them with employable skills for future success.
We are celebrating our students milestones!
When our students reach new thresholds, we honor their hard work with awards to inspire them to keep pushing toward the next level. We are so proud of their dedication and growth!
Yesterday, our students at St. Francis children's home received new computers from Fortinet to use during class!
fter the lesson, the kids engaged in our tradition of decorating their computers with stickers. Thank you to Fortinet for the donation and the volunteers who came to the class!
We got back to the basics by helping one of our youth who struggles with the words need to program games.
We teach online weekly but today we made a special trip to spend a few hours with him in person. Because he is worth the investment of time.

International Mentoring Day January 17th
International Mentoring Day reminds us: small acts create big changes 🌟
Just 2 hours volunteering with YouMeWe helps kids in institutional care prep for English exams and build career skills for life after 18.
New Year, new chance to show up for young people who need our village. Ready to make a difference? DM us! 💙
On January 17th, International Mentoring Day fosters a global understanding of the mentoring movement throughout the world. The day also raises awareness for the global contributions of mentoring.
#InternationalMentoringDay
Mentoring usually involves a more knowledgeable person sharing wisdom with someone who has less experience. Mentors share their skills in the workplace, schools, places of worship, and professional organizations.
Wherever one might need guidance, there are usually mentors. Those who are mentors usually find the position to be rewarding, too. Mentoring is also a great way to influence young people.

Kicking off classes for the New Year
“[Kids] don’t remember what you try to teach them. They remember what you are.” – Jim Henson. Starting off the year with our dedicated teacher Dan Mercier showing up for the kids.
Education is the gift that lasts a lifetime We are currently raising funds for the Mark Bell Scholarship to support students in Japan’s institutional care system.
By providing the books and tools they need, we ensure that financial barriers don't stand in the way of their academic success.
Every gift, no matter the size, brings us closer to our year-end goal!

“Don't feel sorry for these kids because they're not feeling sorry for themselves.
They're just getting on with it"In our latest podcast I sit down with Michael Perry-Clemons to learn about the good work he is doing to maximize the hope and potential of orphans in Japan at YouMeWeNPO.Thank you for sharing your journey and insights surrounding fostering orphans in Japan, which is a topic that deserves a lot more attention and consideration.
We visisted Sendai Tensien for their Christmas Party yesterday.
Onodera-sensei picked us up and we had lunch before heading to the hall where the children acted the story of the birth of Christ. Then had a bell choir.
It was nice to see the kids. We started buying computers and working with them in 2013.
We facilitated buying a van for them to shuttle the children from one group home to another.
We also introduced that IKEA has started to work with us with the concept of helping furnish aged out youth apartments when they go out on their own.
On December 22nd we will pick up 47 hits being prepared by Capgemini to deliver to all the children.
