We were in Gifu meeting our 2026 Mentee for the Fostering Higher Education program.

While the number of 9% of orphans going on to higher education has increased to 30-40%. We now know the rate of dropping out the first year is just as high.

Only 2% complete their degree.

Why?

Because they do not have an adult in their life to champion them through.

We are in collaboration with International Foster Care Alliance (IFCA) and have trained to be mentors and trained mentors for Tokyo/Tohoku.
